USPA NEWS -
For several years, I have remained relatively discreet about the progress of my various projects. Today, the time has come to unveil to you in more detail the first of them, in this case my latest book entitled HOPES. A project in line with my previous photo-documentary books, but on a completely different scale: For this book, more than a hundred visual scenarios depicting as many possible futures of our world have been realized (three times more than for a book like "Terres d'Avenir" that I published in 2009) with a text content of several hundred pages, realized with the collaboration of several dozen experts, in order to offer a global and objective vision of the threats weighing on our world as well as the existing solutions to face them. I would also like to underline the international scope of this project, by the personalities from all over the world who joined me in its elaboration and directly participated in its writing by sharing their own vision of the future, their warnings as well as their messages of hope. Nobel Prize laureates, scientists, explorers, philosophers, heads of State, representatives of indigenous communities from every continent," Yannick Monget said
This international dimension has also been reflected in the official patronage offered to me by UNESCO through the multi-cultural, multi-disciplinary but also humanistic and educational aspects of books. An unexpected but welcome surprise.
Today, with Symbiom, we are unveiling a first teaser that will give you an idea of the scale of the project by revealing some of the great names involved alongside me: - Discover here the official teaser on the crowdfunding kickstarter campaign -

CELEBRITIES INVOLVED IN HOPES PROJECTS : Among these personalities, Jean-Michel Cousteau, astrophysicists Hubert Reeves and Michel Mayor (Nobel Prize in Physics), former Secretary General of the World Meteorological Organization Michel Jarraud, glaciologist Jean Jouzel, my friend Bertrand Piccard (whom you all know through Solar Impulse), many astronaut friends also like Jean-François Clervoy, Claudie Haigneré, Jean-Loup Chrétien, Sergey Revin, committed Heads of State, such as HSH Prince Albert of Monaco, where the former Japanese Prime Minister Naoto Kan, the Mayor of Seville Juan Espadas, the palaeontologist Yves Coppens, Gilles Boeuf, the oceanographers Philippe Vallette, Sandra Bessudo, the explorers Jean Lemire, Luc Hardy, the architect Jacques Rougerie, members of the Club of Rome such as Ian Dunlop, lawyers such as my friend Corinne Lepage or Valerie Cabanes, people involved in animal protection (another theme that is dear to me as you know) such as Paul Watson, Allain Bougrain Dubourg, but also committed artists such as the actor and director Jacques Perrin, not forgetting Matthieu Ricard, Yves Paccalet or Nicolas Hulot, as well as a number of Nobel Peace Prize winners (I think that rarely have so many been united behind the same literary project) such as Jody Williams, Tawakkol Karman, Shirin Ebadi, ICAN... Finally, there are also representatives of indigenous communities from around the world, whose voices and vision of what we are going through were of paramount importance to me, such as my friend Hindou Oumarou Ibrahim (People of Chad), Kenny Matampash (Maasai People), Chief Raoni Metuktire (Kayapo People) and many others... It's impossible to name everyone here, especially since I want to save a few surprises for the book's release. This is the purpose of this email; to finance this project and publish it by the end of this year, I have decided to use new means, including crowdfunding through the launch of an international fundraising campaign. I don't know if this is going to work. It's a risky gamble. This is the first time I've used this method of fundraising, but I think it is in this case perfectly suited to the project, allowing for citizen mobilization and allowing Symbiom to maintain total independence in book publishing, which is important, given the committed content of the book. Today more than ever, I will need your help because I wanted this book to be published in a totally independent way from the traditional editorial circuits. As the fundraising events we wanted to organize in Paris to finance the project could not take place due to the pandemic, we are now launching a huge international crowfunding campaign on Kickstarter to finance its publication. I hope to be able to count on you to share it around you in your networks, and possibly participate in it yourself. The success of a crowdfunding campaign depends on the ability to mobilise people around you. I therefore rely on each of you to share this link as much as possible around you via your contacts and social networks. Small streams make big rivers and thus make it possible to finance ambitious projects in a participative way. The campaign will last a limited time, only 45 days to reach our needs, which explains the need to share my call around you today if you want this project to be successful." Yannick Monget acknowledged, as he launched his HOPES project. Source: Symbiom
