Chipiona, a municipality of 20,000 inhabitants in the province of Cádiz (Southern Spain), is dedicated to the location of Eric Adam Caldwell, a US military stationed at the Rota naval base but who lives in the municipality of Cádiz, who disappeared on Friday, October 7. Marines from the Rota naval base and residents of Chipiona have joined the search for Eric Adam Caldwell. The Spanish Civil Guard and the Chipiona Local Police are leading the search, and have called on all people who have nautical means and have experience at sea to collaborate with the search device. Commanders of the Rota naval base, representatives of the Chipiona City Council and relatives of the missing soldier held a meeting on Thursday to report on the device, announce the next actions and coordinate the search.
40 Civil Guard agents work in the device with the support of helicopters, divers, dogs specialized in searching for people and the Judicial Police, among others. The device is run by the Civil Guard, with the support of the Chipiona City Council, personnel from the Rota naval base, Local Police and Chipiona Civil Protection.
The search has lasted a week, and so far there has been no news of the whereabouts of Eric Adam Caldwell, a US Marine stationed at the Rota naval base. The Civil Guard has asked for citizen collaboration to comb Chipiona and its surroundings. Sources from the investigation told USPA News that the worst is feared, given the time that has elapsed since the disappearance. For this reason, the search has expanded to the sea.
