They explained the importance of Children's Day and Chacha Nehru's attachment to children. Even though Nehru was very rich, he spent his life in prison for the independence of the country and welfare of the people. He wrote letters to his daughter Indira Priyadarshini inspiring her for the country and freedom. As the first Prime Minister of India, he rendered immeasurable service to the country.
They said that the name was fixed because all the children fondly called Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru 'Chacha Nehru'. That's why his birthday will be celebrated as Children's Day. Jawahar Lal Nehru believed that children are the real strength of the country and the foundation of the society, the teachers said.
The teachers said that after the death of Chacha Nehru in 1964, his birth anniversary was celebrated as Children's Day in the country. Considering his popularity among children, a resolution was passed in Parliament to celebrate National Children's Day on November 14.
