USPA NEWS -
On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of French Tech, the iconic Economic and Financial Journal, "La Tribune" successfully organized its first edition, the TECH FOR FUTURE, which brought together the entire tech ecosystem, today, April 6, 2023, throughout the afternoon, (2 p.m. to 8 p.m.), in the auditorium of the legendary Cinema Grand Rex in Paris. The title "THE BIG RESET" of this 1st edition makes the poster in large shiny billboards, on the high Art Deco facade of the Grand REX, more accustomed to hosting Exclusive Premiers of Blockbusters films. The convention began with an exclusive interview with Jean Noel Barrot, the Minister Delegate for the Digital Transition and Telecommunications, by Philippe Mabille (Director of Publication at La Tribune) and Sylvain Rolland, (Editor in Chief Tech at La Tribune). After several keynotes, debates, panel sessions, the BIG TECH FUTURE revealed the 10 startups of the year 2023, in a mini corporate show, around the general manager of the Tribune Tatiana De Francqueville (Since 2019) and her President Jean Christophe Tortora, delighted with the success of this 1st edition.

The choice of the Grand REX was also justified by the 91st anniversary of this mythical place in Paris. entertainment, and the 35th anniversary of Club Grand REX.
A couple of panel sessions offered lively debates around contemporary subjects very relevantly defended by the prestigious speakers on what digital and High Tech bring to the service of the human. Famous geopolitical leaders and experts in the digital ecosystem in France, and overseas such as Asma Mhalla (Columbia, Sciences Po and Polytechnique), Ophelie Coehlo (Institut Rousseau), Arno Pons (Digital New Deal) and Leila Morch (McCourt Institute) who detailed the contours and challenges of tech in the global economic and political context.
Among the banking guests, Olivier Sichel (Caisse des dépôts et consignation), Marguerite Berard and Xavier Chopard (BNP Paribas) Redouane Bellefqih (Managing Partner (CEO) of Deloitte Consulting France, Member of Deloitte France Executive Committee, Board member of Deloitte Africa), Nicolas Dufourcq (CEO BPI France) and Paul-François Fournier (Exec Director, BPI France), and Senator Catherine Morin-Desailly.
The successful French Tech was very well represented by many women including Clara Chappaz (Mission French Tech), Maya Noël (France Digitale), Alexia Reiss (Sista), Stephanie Hospital (OneRagtime), Marie Ekeland (2050), Rachel Delacour (Founder of Sweep).
Former Secretary of State for Digital who recently founded Eversy, Mounir Mahjoubi-Jozefowicz (Fagain), Romain Paillard (Co-founder & CBDO, Le Wagon) as well as other founders of unicorns who come to tell and share their success stories like the famous Frederic Mazzella (CEO Founder BlaBlaCar & Captain Cause), Charles Gorintin (Alan, health insurance unicorn), Georges-Olivier Reymond (Founder of Pasqal, quantum leader in Europe), Quentin Adam (Founder of Clever Cloud), animated panel sessions.
Top exclusives conversation have also been conducted with notorious CEOs such as Jean-Marie Messier (Ex CEO of Vivendi), during short sessions led by Philippe Mabille.
Experts from digital regulators have mostly debated the very touchy subject of allowing use of Chat GPT following the moratorium filed by Elon Musk, demanding a deal to slow down AI, given the "threat" of this new AI, in Europe, following the ban in Italy and the two complaints filed in France with the CNIL (National Commission for Computing and Liberties). Its president Marie-Laure-Denis, was able to answer these sensitive and topical questions, as to the regulation in France vis-à-vis such AI.
Artificial intelligence has been one of the most discussed topics, and in particular the case of chatCPT, which is not unanimous in the digital world. La Tribune also honored two women leaders at the forefront of French research, who are Laurence Devillers (CNRS) and Isabelle Ryl (Inria and Paris Artificial Intelligence Research Institute), and the founder of 2050, Marie Ekeland.
It is regrettable that no personality had the honor of presenting a start-up, or a concept, digital, to represent people with disabilities, inclusion, obliges.
Two winners were awarded at the prize-giving ceremony, in the service of the handicapped (Help for the blind, and to cure epilepsy), but were not handicapped themselves. Moreover, the stage of the auditorium of the Grand REX was totally inaccessible to people with reduced mobility (stairs), as well as the place of the final cocktail party, on the first floor, not equipped with an elevator. One could only wish La Tribune to reiterate its second edition of Big TechFuture, which shown to be vital to the emulation of the digital ecosystem, upon this event of which could even become of public utility, to make digital more accessible and less "threatening" to the public opinion while being more inclusive towards people with disabilities who represent 5% of the French population...
