BREGENZ FESTIVAL OPENS FOR 70th SEASON - FROM 22 JULY TO 23 AUGUST 2015

Visitors of AUSTRIA, GERMANY, SWITZERLAND and FRANCE made the Festival an International Event in its very first year.
In 1950, the BREGENZ Festival acquired its first home : an off-shore stage erected on wooden piles, on which mainly Operettes and Ballets were performed.
In 1962, thanks to strong public interests, the Festival became longer each year and its program became more varied. The same year, Chamber Music Concerts & Haydn Operas were performed in the Renaissance Palace at HOHENEMS. On the Lake, Ballet evenings were staged from 1960 onwards and were a great success.

In 1988, the BREGENZ Production style also brought about change in the Festspielhaus, whose program of operating rarities counterbalances the opulent productions in the Lake.
In July 2007, a team from EON productions, the Production Company responsible for the JAMES BOND movies, visited one of the last rehearsals for TOSCA. A film crew came for ten days in early May 2008 to shoot scenes for the BOND movie "QUANTUM OF SOLACE"...
