OURAMDANE AND BOURGEOIS APPOINTED TO DIRECT FRENCH NATIONAL CHOREGRAPHIC CENTRE

USPA NEWS - Rachid Ouramdane and Yoann Bourgeois, born respectively in 1971 and 1981 in Nimes in the Jura, are dancers, choreographers, acrobats, jugglers and actors. They graduated at the National Contemporary Dance Center of Angers in 1992 to one of the National Centre of Circus Arts of Chalons-en-Champagne.

RACHID OURAMDANE AND YOANN BOURGEOIS APPOINTED UNANIMOUSLY TO DIRECT THE FRENCH NATIONAL CHOREOGRAPHIC CENTRE ---------------------------------------------Rachid Ouramdane and Yoann Bourgeois, born respectively in 1971 and 1981 in Nimes in the Jura, are dancers, choreographers, acrobats, jugglers and actors. They graduated at the National Contemporary Dance Center of Angers in 1992 to one of the National Centre of Circus Arts of Chalons-en-Champagne and the second one has studied alternating with the National Centre for Contemporary Dance in Angers, they both launched the creative process by the end of their studies.----------------------------------------------------------- These artists recognised nationally and internationally, they offer a unique combination between dance and circus in a spirit of artistic innovation and openness. Their project, called Mobile horizons, based on the notions of encounter, of otherness, enlargement and relays. Their ambition is to create a real choreographic production center for the creation within the NCC of a "hive of artists." The planned collaborations offer a wide range of aesthetic directly related to social issues and a wide opening to the younger generation through the establishment of a digital hub for increased shelf. The Grenoble NCC was founded in 1984 around the company of Jean-Claude Gallotta, by maintaining a close relationship with the House of Culture of Grenoble, now become MC2. The departure of Jean-Claude Gallotta is an important page which turns with a strong challenge to invent a new relationship with the MC2 but also with many partners at local and regional level. The French Minister of culture, Fleur Pellerin, particularly like to acknowledge the exceptional and exemplary commitment of Jean-Claude Gallotta from the origin to the direction of Grenoble National Choreographic Centre.
