Carlson's sixth work, the novel continues to use the author's signature writing style of multiple first-person perspectives to heighten the tension in this action-packed drama. The book follows the success of Carlson's Michael Bennit series of political dramas and the stunning spy thriller, 'The Eyes of Others.'

'The novel is set in the year 2088, almost sixty years a global economic collapse toppled world governments. To fill the vacuum, corporations seized power and have converted citizens into employees laboring to enrich the elite class that brought the world back from oblivion,' said the publisher's spokesperson.

Although it is set in the distant future, Carlson's novel reveals a world with similar problems to modern society. Replete with political bickering, backstabbing and opportunism, the novel serves as an ominous warning about what a possible future could look like.

Mikael Carlson has been recognized with numerous awards, including a National Indie Excellence Award, Readers' Favorite Silver Medal, a Global Ebook Award, and was a Montaigne Medal Finalist. He is a proud U.S. Army Paratrooper who recently retired from the Rhode Island Army National Guard. Carlson was raised in New Milford, Connecticut, and currently lives in his birthplace of nearby Danbury.
